Overall this kit worked well enough to improve the pretty rough acoustics of the default Keychron K4, but the foam I was most excited for in the kit didn’t fit. Specifically the plate foam, which was so thick that it prevented the switches from successfully reaching the pinholes on the PCB. This resulted in a bunch of errant keystrokes or missed keystrokes.
And no matter what I tried (clipping the excess foam around the stabilizer wires, etc.) the foam was ultimately just too thick to sit comfortably between the plate and PCB without interrupting function. If it was even just a millimeter thinner it would likely have made the difference, but sadly it’s not.
